At the heart of this collaboration was a question: Can we tie-dye tech fabrics? What better way to initiate a project than by going boldly and joyfully into the unknown?

Through persistence and experimentation, we developed a unique process for tie dyeing Dimension Polyant’s iconic X-Pac® fabric. The result is three distinctive, camouflage inspired patterns: Inyo, Mojave, and Hippie, each bringing a dose of psychedelic energy to our functional aesthetic.

Making this project possible was the world’s first waterproof cotton duck from Dimension Polyant. X10 combines natural cotton duck with their iconic X-Ply™ and a waterproof film backing, resulting in a fabric with a soft hand and the technical performance to keep your gear clean and dry.

At the heart of the collaboration is the Speedwell, a backpack that brings together DNA from the ASP Rucksack and MW Hauser with new design features that push functional and aesthetic pack design forward.
